🌿Nature Knows Best?👩‍🔬

Where do pharmaceuticals (drugs) really come from?

Spoiler alert: Not from a lab full of white coats and beakers — not originally, anyway. Long before “Big Pharma” was a thing, there were plants — humble herbs, roots, barks, and flowers — passed down through generations like secret ancestorial recipes. These natural powerhouses weren’t just for flavor or fragrance; they were medicine. Real medicine.

We’re talking antimicrobial, antifungal, antiparasitic, antibacterial magic all packed into green leaves and earthy roots. Oh, and those oxalates? That’s the plant’s natural defense system, a warning shot to pests and predators: “Back off — I’ve got chemistry!”

Let’s not forget how one of the biggest medical breakthroughs — penicillin — came from a humble mold. Yes, a mushroom-like fungus. Nature did that.

So what did the pharmaceutical industry do?

They took the best parts of these ancient remedies, broke them down, rebuilt them in a lab, mutated them into patentable Franken-compounds, and called it innovation. They created synthetic versions — more stable, yes, but also more aggressive, like a pharmaceutical Hulk. Effective? Sure. But now your body’s left scratching its head, like, “What is this, and why is it punching my liver?”

These synthetic drugs cling to your minerals, chelating them out of your system and often causing more problems than they solve. Side effects? Oh, just a few dozen per commercial break.

So yes, plants and herbs are effective. They were designed to be. God knew exactly what He was doing when He created them — medicine straight from the earth, wrapped in leaves instead of warning labels.🌱

But hey — let’s be clear.

I’m not saying all pharmaceuticals or man-made compounds are evil villains in lab coats. They definitely have a place in this wild, fast-paced world — emergencies, acute care, lifesaving interventions? Absolutely. I get it. Sometimes we need the big guns.🔫

BUT if we could slow down for five minutes and actually get curious about what’s really behind our symptoms — whether it’s emotional trauma, chronic stress, mineral deficiencies, or that sneaky modern diet packed with seed oils, ultra-processed everything, and iron-fortified who-knows-what — we might start seeing real healing.

Our modern lifestyle? Not helping. Stress piles up, cortisol (a.k.a. the fight-or-flight hormone) goes into overdrive, flushing out all those pricey vitamins you just took like yesterday’s coffee. And speaking of coffee — yes, it’s delicious, yes, we love it, but it also depletes minerals, vitamins, and hydration. That dewy glow? Gone. Say hello to early wrinkles and afternoon crashes. #sippinandstripping(minerals😅)

So you needed that cup of Joe to stay awake… but in the long run, it’s robbing you of the very energy and minerals you need to function. It’s a wild loop. No judgment — just awareness.

Bottom line. Plants and herbs were humanity’s first pharmacy. They’re still powerful, still relevant, and sometimes exactly what we need. Let’s respect both nature and modern medicine — but remember that slowing down, nourishing deeply, and getting to the root of things might just be the biggest revolution of all.

"And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food."
~ Genesis 1:29

"He causes the grass to grow for the cattle,
And vegetation for the service of man,
That he may bring forth food from the earth"
~ Psalm 104:14
